Univision and Televisa join forces to create a Spanish-language media company

Grupo Televisa and Univision Holdings have completed a transaction between the media content and production assets of Televisa and Univision to create a new Spanish-language media and content company, TelevisaUnivision.

Televisa’s four broadcast channels, 27 pay-TV channels, movie studio Videocine, subscription video-on-demand service Blim TV and the Televisa brand will be combined with Univision’s U.S. assets, which include Univision and UniMás broadcast networks, nine Spanish-language cable networks, 59 television stations and 57 radio stations in major U.S. Hispanic markets, and the PrendeTV AVOD platform.
