Scooter’s Coffee appoints Mitch Walden to lead its digital marketing strategy
The Nebraska-based drive-thru chain continues to expand its leadership team with a new senior director of loyalty and digital marketing tasked with improving customer engagement and supporting point-of-sale growth across United States

US drive-thru chain Scooter’s Coffee has announced the appointment of former Papa John’s marketing director Mitch Walden to drive forward its digital marketing initiatives.
Scooter’s Coffee commissioned Walden to design and execute cross-channel marketing campaigns that drive customer engagement.
As Senior Director of Loyalty and Digital Marketing, Walden will also oversee the company’s website optimization and mobile app loyalty.
Founded in 1998, Scooter’s Coffee currently operates 490 stores across the United States and has set an ambition to become the nation’s leading drive-thru coffee franchise.
The United States has the most developed drive-thru market in the world and the format has proven to be lucrative over the past year. Although the market is still dominated by Starbucks and Dunkin’, Oregon-based Dutch Bros, which operates 603 stores in the United States, exceeded $1 billion in sales for the 12 months ended June 30, 2022.
Walden’s appointment follows former Restaurant Brands International executive Patrick Coelho as chief development officer and former Starbucks vice president Joe Thornton as company president, respectively. in May and June 2022.
In addition to serving as senior director of media and performance marketing at the Papa John’s restaurant chain, Walden has also held senior media and marketing positions at auto accessories retailer Autozone and the animal health company Elanco.
