Reboot of digital marketing program to help small businesses hone media skills

Thousands of BC businesses can access a digital marketing boot camp opportunity, honing their skills online with another extension of the popular program.

To be eligible, companies must be based in British Columbia and registered to do business in British Columbia. The program is run by non-profit media company Alacrity Canada and is open to businesses with one to 149 employees.

“Our team is happy to help BC-based businesses build their digital marketing skills and, as a result, increase their revenue. We look forward to training an additional 2,040 students over the next year and helping them build strong, resilient businesses,” said Richard Egli, CEO of Alacrity Canada.

The program is led by industry leaders, with instruction offered through methods such as live and virtual classrooms and mentorship. A self-directed online option is also available.

First launched in 2019 and extended through summer 2021, the program has helped more than 6,000 participants digitize their business, adapt to changing models, meet changing customer demands and drive the company’s growth, according to a press release.

The provincial government provided an additional $1.5 million to host future sessions, for a total of $6 million.

“The Digital Marketing Boot Camp has been a huge success and is one of the ways we continue to support businesses that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation, Ravi Kahlon. “Through this program and our StrongerBC economic plan, BC business owners are equipped with the knowledge, tools and skills to help them pivot their businesses to meet the needs of the changing digital world. . »
