OBU students work with Bquiltin Studio to boost their digital marketing presence

OBU Marketing Students

Oklahoma Baptist University students had the opportunity to partner with Bquiltin Studio to improve the company’s marketing tactics. The students, Allison Lott and Jacob Moore, are both taking a course in internet and digital marketing taught by Dickinson Chair in Business professor Dr. Daryl Green.

Dr. Green asked the students in the class to partner with area businesses to build on the skills they learned through the business program. These skills focus specifically on strengthening marketing tactics and expanding knowledge of how to operate in a real environment. Allison and Jacob were assigned to work with

Beverly Kirk, owner and founder of Bquiltin Studio. Beverly offers custom quilts through her long arm quilting company, Bquiltin Studio. The students’ goal was to improve the digital presence as well as a more traditional presence.

Focusing on digital marketing, the students ran an online marketing campaign through Google Ads and established Bquiltin Studio as a Google verified business. Thanks to this interactive and intuitive study, the students were able to increase the awareness of the Bquiltin Studio brand. To enhance the traditional presence, the students created a custom logo and tri-fold brochure that Beverly will personally distribute to customers. The brochure contains vital information relating to the business that relates to a target audience.

“Students were able to increase brand awareness through social media presence in ways that I might not have been able to.” Beverly said. “They had to learn about the world of quilting that I thrived in, and that turned out to be an asset for me…through that, they were able to establish Bquiltin Studio as an identifier in the quilting industry .”

“It was a pleasure to work alongside

Beverly and put the knowledge we have learned into practice,” Allison said. “Being able to know that our work can benefit others and their business has made it a very motivating experience.”
